QUALYNX reads your engineering drawing, finds every dimension, tolerance, thread and note, numbers the balloons in machining order and fills your inspection report.
Example values. Tap a row or a balloon to follow the numbering.
What it does
QUALYNX works from the words and geometry printed on the sheet. It does not need a template for each drawing style.
Limits written as a stacked pair, such as 5.020 over 5.030, are recognised as a single dimension. Plus and minus, one-sided tolerances, fractions and decimal commas are read too.
OD, ID and overall length first. Then the other lathe features, milling, GD&T and notes.
Acme, Stub Acme, UN and metric call-outs fill their detail rows. Values printed on the drawing always win.
Amber rows show what needs a look. Drag balloons, edit names and limits, add anything missed.
Type readings and get Accept or Reject for every row, plus the overall disposition.
See what changed, what is new and what was removed, with a marked-up PDF of the new drawing.
Add files or a folder with sub-folders. Each drawing is ballooned and reported into its own folder, and one failed file never stops the rest. A summary lists what happened to each.
Scanned PDFs and images are read with OCR on your own computer, with nothing sent to the cloud, and marked amber so you check every value. A PDF made from CAD stays the most accurate source.
Detection
One drawing mixes many kinds of dimension. QUALYNX recognises each one, names it and writes its limits, so nothing is typed by hand. Select a type to see how it is read. Examples are illustrative.
How it works
Open a PDF, a scan or a picture. QUALYNX finds the characteristics and places the balloons in the QUALYNX style.
Review the amber rows, fix a name or a limit, and move a balloon where you want it.
Excel inspection report, ballooned PDF, ballooned images, a CSV and the project file, in any mix.
Balloon numbering
The inspector can check the turned part before it goes to the mill. Second instances of 2X and 3X features follow all first instances of the same stage.
Outside diameter, inside diameter or main bore, overall length.
Steps, grooves, reliefs, chamfers, radii and threads, end to end, then detail views.
Slots, flats, keyways, cross holes, hole patterns and tapped holes.
Frames and surface finish, then notes, with title block notes last.
Report forms
Import any Excel inspection report and QUALYNX learns its columns. Two multi-page forms are built in, one in millimetres and one with inch and millimetre groups.
